1972 Jaguar E-Type

SOLD

This is a very special E-Type. It was delivered new to Ireland in July 1972 and retains its brown log book. Specified with a 5.3 litre V12 engine matched to a manual transmission, it's an absolute joy to drive.

It's clearly been correctly cared for throughout its life. Regular and consistent maintenance, means it was never neglected and never needed total restoration like so many other cars. It wears its 51 years very well, in fact it's all the better for them.

The Old English White paintwork which was refreshed at some point in the past, is still in exceptional condition. All brightwork is in good order with only slight age related wear. The wire wheels and white side wall tyres are a lovely touch.

The engine bay is very clean, tidy and dry. It fires up from cold with half choke for 20 seconds then starts to idle smoothly. On the open road the engine delivers smooth and responsive power and is eager to accelerate through all 4 speeds. There are no unpleasant noises from the suspension. This Jaguar just wants to be driven.

The E-Type is considered one of the most beautiful sports cars ever made and rightly so. But it's not just about the looks, at 0-60 in less than 7 seconds it could outrun many cars on the road today. It's an icon of motoring.
