1990 Mercedes-Benz 500SL

With just 14,700 miles on the clock, this 500SL is as close to a “new” R129 as you are likely to find anywhere. This will be a short description, because the car is perfect.

The exterior Pearl Blue Metallic paint work (348) is flawless and has a perfect finish and the Andor Blue (301) bumpers and side flanks are in the correct satin finish. The 15 Hole alloy wheels are unmarked and fitted with new tyres.

The interior upholstery is seriously cool, blue check (072) which is perfect for summer motoring because leather gets very hot on sunny days. All the trim, switches, wood and carpet are like new. All electrics work exactly as they should.

This SL is equipped with air conditioning, electric memory seats, heated seats, driver and passenger airbags, cruise control and ABS to name a few. All these options work as they should and make the car a very usable modern classic.

On the open road the 5 litre V8 gives the car all the power you could possibly want for short spins or a continental cruise. It starts instantly, idles correctly and accelerates effortlessly and all with no squeaks or rattles, as you’d expect.
