1990 Porsche 911 - 964

SOLD

A perfectly maintained Porsche 911 - 964 with a fully documented history folder, that illustrates this particular car has always been cherished. The exterior Marine Blue paintwork is flawless and the off white leather is in great condition.

It is rare, though refreshing, to find these air-cooled 911’s that have been continually maintained to such a high standard. The gloriously rich Marine Blue Metallic maintains a deep prestigious lustre, with little or no signs of defect worthy of any mention.  All glass and lenses are again excellent, both near and off-side rear units have recently been replaced at great expense, with genuine Porsche parts, only due to some light crazing, however, to maintain provenance, the originals are supplied with the car.

Mirroring the quality and condition of the exterior, and having only ever experienced light use, all surfaces and materials remain factory fresh. The front sport seats, like the door mirrors, are electrically adjustable, faced in perforated light leather, elegantly trimmed in Cobalt Blue piping, and free from wear to common, vulnerable areas like the side bolsters.

A 964, in any guise, is still a relatively rare model and sight on our roads today, having only been produced for a few short years between 1990 and 1994. Power is provided by the famously air-cooled, naturally aspirated 3600 cc, 12 valve, horizontally opposed flat six engine. With multi-point fuel injection and single overhead camshaft, this unit is capable of developing approx. 247 bhp @ 6100 rpm, and 228 lb.ft of torque @ 4800 rpm, transmitted, in this case, is via a 4-speed ZF transmission, with manual mode option, driving the rear wheels only. Claimed by Porsche of achieving 159 mph and a 0-60 time of 6.4 secs. progress is still brisk, even by today’s standards, performing admirably in the majority of driving conditions.

Braking is provided by ventilated discs all round, 11.73”inch at the front, 11.77”inch at the rear, with 4 pot and two pot calipers respectively. The suspension as expected, remains taught, while compliant enough for everyday cruising, independent McPherson coil springs, anti-roll bar, trailing arms up front, coil spring, anti-roll bar at the rear. Having a front trunk stowage capacity of 200 litres, only weighing in at 1350 kgs and an estimated fuel range of an estimated 400+ miles, this wonderful low mileage, pampered example of the classic air-cooled 911, offers the ultimate practical and stylish way to enjoy this coming Summer.
